Hello! My name is Emily and I am 23 years old. I graduated from the University of Florida in 2008 and am currently in graduate school for Occupational Therapy!  I recently moved back home to St. Pete, FL  3 months ago and went through a big transition moving back home, doing my OT internships, and leaving my friends!  I had been in a Christian sorority, Phi Lamb, for 5 years at UF and met amazing women of God and these are some of my closest friends!  I have one sister, Melissa, who is 21 and a senior at UF.  She is my best friend in the whole world and I will miss her a lot when I am overseas I can already tell you that!

I love kids and just recently got involved with a ministry in St. Pete called K-Life for middle and high school 🙂  I lead a small group for senior girls and I love them!  The Lord has shown His faithfulness in SOOO many ways since I have been home and it has truly been a mission trip for me down here in St. Pete!  Whether you are in the states or overseas everyday is an amazing opportunity to shine God’s love and share His word with those we meet.  I am very passionate about sharing the gospel with people I meet and I have found that the Lord is always faithful when we ask for people to be placed in our lives!

Things I love…scrapbooking, reading, running, getting to know new people, sunsets, the beach, snowboarding, scuba diving, singing (although I will already warn you I am not that good!), K-Life, hanging out with friends, and I love love love Jesus.  You can take all this world has to offer, just give me Jesus.  I began my relationship with Christ when I was 18 and I have never known a love deeper than the love of God.  The love, mercy, and grace that have been poured out in my life are what draws my heart to want to serve on this mission trip.  I have deserved nothing yet God has blessed me in so many ways.  It would truly be an honor to go in the name of the Lord and love the people that He longs to have know Him.  I can’t wait to meet all of my teammates and live out the calling that God has put in His word: go and make disciples of all nations.

This is the verse the Lord spoke to me…..
….The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because the Lord has annointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance for our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair….Isaiah 61:1-3
