Just an average day in a fairytale land…
It hit me the other day that my perspective about what is normal and acceptable has completely changed since being on the world race…let me describe our last week….

…everyday we go into a “country” called Transnistria where we have to go through a 30 minute border control process to get into a non-country!…this magical little place reminds us of Narnia…and where we cross the border looks like a gas station…
                                                                   Ministry Contacts
.

…my teammate Stacey jumped from a high ledge this week and really bruised both her feet, thought she may have broken some bones…went to the hospital in Transnistria and said she felt like she was transported back into the early 1900s with the kind of medical equipment and X-rays that she got…walked out later with medicine and cream and the total cost for everything?? SEVEN DOLLARS! They didn’t even charge her for the x-rays and praise God nothing is broken!

…two of our boys, Tommy and Kameron, were in “Beaver Town” from Friday-Monday figuring out Tommy’s beaver business he is starting here in Moldova…Tommy was in Moldova last month and through prayer and hearing from the Lord Tommy’s heart was moved to help support his ministry contact who pours his life into the orphanage he runs and also into planting churches in Moldova. This ministry contact was really struggling financially and Tommy was led to start a beaver business with him. Tommy purchased 25 beavers which by the end of the year will be about 240 beavers in which then they can sell to restaurants for their meat and have money for the ministry. Tommy is purchasing all the materials to build the beaver cage and headed down this past weekend with Kameron to get all needed supplies….which then this month our teammates from the squad (two teams are there now) will build the beaver house!…

…we wake up in the morning to find that our cereal has been taken over by lots of ants and instead of doing what may typically be “normal” to most we realize that once you pour in the milk most of the ants swim to the top and you can fish them out…our awesome men took the first servings of cereal with 50+ants and the girls had 10-20 ants…I said sweet I only got 10 ants!…lol they don’t have normal cereal here and the milk comes in bags…awesome

Describing Moldova/Transnistria…out your kitchen window you see goats just walking through the streets…wide open plains of beautiful land…they do drive on the right hand of the road like in America…wherever you go people want to serve you tea and these circular cookie/crackers…corn sticks are fun food you eat that look like a cheeto but taste sweet…my stomach does not like it when I change countries and takes a few weeks to get used to it but then we switch again!…grapes are the very BEST ever in Moldova…the roads here are very bumpy…it is fall here so the leaves are changing colors and its in the 40’s here temperature wise…bought a thick coat for 100 rubles (10 dollars) in Transnestria to keep warm…Baboschas are grandmothers not small babies as I thought…Da means Yes and Neiet means No…
