My life is awesome.
The more I think about it, the more truth that statement has. The lord has blessed me with a loving and supportive family and group of friends. I have been given amazing opportunity during my short lifetime and I grew up knowing I had a savior and a lord. Some people aren't so lucky.
Last year, I had the opportunity to serve the homeless in New York City. They were so thankful and happy, not as much for the physical needs we could fulfill, but for the love we could give to them. One of the most life changing conversations I've had in my life was sitting with a homeless man on the floor of a NYC Subway station. I knew at that moment that that was not the last missions trip I would be on.
My senior year, I was looking for something to do after graduation, I applied to graduate schools, and even got into some, but I felt that god was calling me elsewhere. After looking around for missions trips, and some of them not working out, I was feeling very broken. It was getting late in the year and I had no plans for after graduation. My friend mentioned the World Race to me, and that night, I went home, looked at the website and applied that same evening!!!
I am so excited to grow in fellowship with other believers, partner with people from other countries and learn all I can from the experience. I want to share the joy and love of Jesus Christ I feel with as many people as I possible can. Jesus prayed the night before his death that those who believe him would give the godless world evidence that God sent him and God love all people, just as God loves his son. I want to share that with people!!!
