Often when we hear the word “goodbye” we instinctively get a rush of emotions. Most times the world goodbye comes with tears, and lots of heart ache but there are some goodbyes in our life where the GOOD actually come from the Bye!

When I started to pray about what God wanted for my life it seemed like everything around me had big red flags that said “BYE” and I began to questions God how, why??? I have an amazing family, wonderful friends, an amazing Job that I love and a small religion class that I adore, I have a life here…. Then I slowly began to realize that we in fact cannot grow unless we say Goodbye to some things, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a person, or a place, but just saying goodbye to our selfish worldly needs, to our everyday complaining, saying goodbye to an empty life that is filled with so many things that in the big picture are not important… and then there’s the times when it is a place, a person, a family, your bed, your house, everything your comfortable with and know as normal your all of a sudden realizing your saying Goodbye too….

God calls each of us on our mission, sometimes it’s in our back yard, sometimes it’s in our work place, other times it could be on a mission field, I never would have thought God would have called me my little name, my little town, my little story to go abroad to 11 countries in 11 months.

Then God said :

“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” [Mark 16:15]

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” [Matthew 28:19]

“For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”” [Romans 10:13-15]

Sometimes taking a leap of faith, and standing on Gods promise to spread his truth and light no matter what or where he calls you to do is exactly what we have to do. God’s word is a living word and it promises us the protection and safety and guidance of our father. God is the light in all darkness and it is OUR mission to spread that light amongst all the darkness of the world!
