Back in the Philippines at our first debrief, I wrote this spoken word for my squad. Now, as I'm about to head off to Swaziland for month 7, I decided I would finally post it. Believe these truths, because God had me write every single one of them for you.
Could the Lord of Lords and King of Kings
somehow have ended up deceived?
Could my creator, savior, father, and friend,
Have just made up some version of myself in his head?
Cuz the word says I'm accepted, forgiven, and clean
Pure, free, a daughter-redeemed,
but we insist on prefacing truth with conditions
"In God's eyes" I'm righteous, but in reality I'm something different?
See, we are letting our own views of ourselves get in the way.
We believe Satan's lies that we are dirty, tainted, stained.
But if what I think about myself differs from him?
Am I really saying that He's mistaken?
If I really believe He knows everything that can't be,
because the creator of reality can't be deceived.
He knows my every thought, emotion, and deed.
He knows my every flaw, strength, desire, and need.
He loves me so much he has memorized me.
He knows everything and it's His truth that reigns.
I became a new creation the moment I was saved.
And I don't mean symbolically or in his eyes alone,
I mean the reality is that his blood atoned.
When through Christs blood I was reconciled,
I became adopted as His precious child.
Now I stand here radiant and shall never be ashamed,
Because I'm clothed in His strength, dignity, and grace.
His righteousness became mine when He hung on the tree.
His perfect love made me perfectly and wonderfully clean.
It's time we cast out the lies and hold on to what's true-
Jesus Christ loves you so much- he literally died for you.
So please listen to me daughters and sons,
Do not be discouraged- Christ has already won.
Your sins from the past have disappeared-
Failure is something you never again have to fear.
Because even your present and future sins,
can't take away that you have already been forgiven.
The Father chose you knowing every single sin you'd commit.
You are His and there is nothing that could ever change it.
Hear me when I say that the reality is this,
You're more precious than rubies and absolutely priceless.
The truth is you're beautiful and completely accepted.
You will never be deserted, abandoned, rejected.
You are never too much and always enough.
You are empowered by the Spirit and filled with His love
You are never alone, he goes before and behind.
You are adored, blameless, his chosen bride.
He has lavished you with His presence, wisdom, and grace.
You are worthy and fearfully and wonderfully made.
So if our Abba says we are children of the Most High King,
we need to accept that identity as reality.
Cuz I don't know about you, but I am done with the lies.
I'm done with thinking I'm only clean in His eyes.
I am finished letting Satan steal joy and life.
The battle begins when you lay your lies at His feet-
when you let go of expectations you feel you must meet.
Let Him fight for you and cast off these lies that bind.
Let the truths flood your heart that you already know in your mind.
His affections are great and he adores you dear ones-
let Him turn the spirit of slavery to that of daughters and sons.
The Lord has already declared us redeemed.
Let us walk in that freedom and finally truly believe.
It is then that God will use our stories to set the nations free.
