As I write this on my top bunk on the second floor of our little mission house, everyone is busy below me packing up their lives for the trillionth time, cleaning, and doing all the last minute things that come with the night before travel days. Tomorrow, at 5 am, we leave on a 15 hour, 5 country road trip to our very last country. Where did the time go? As my friend Chelsey put it, this year feels like "it has lasted forever, but it feels like it shouldn't be ending yet."
Thinking about it ending has made me all kinds of nostalgic today and more than a little sad to be finishing the Race, especially when that means leaving this place. Will this ever get any easier?About an hour ago, I said goodbye to my contact for the month, Mariana, and could feel tears filling my eyes. This month has been nothing short of beautiful and as I prepare to leave, my heart is heavy and full at the same time. I'm sad to go and will miss this church and these people so much, but I am so grateful to have been able to live, and serve, and love here.
These videos are just a glimpse of the last 30 days.
Pray for these precious people.
