Here is a little bit about me:
-My name is Emily Kon, but I have lots of nicknames (Emmy, Em, Emmo, Elmo, ect)
-I am 21 and a recent Psychology and Sociology degree graduate from Maryville University in St. Louis
-I have the most incredible family. A family who, when I really think about leaving, I instantly feel like someone knocked the wind out of me. I love all of you so much and will miss you most. (Lauren (26), Kevin (19), Lindsey (24), Daddy, me and Momma Bear) <3
-Lauren and June got married in October and Aja is his 6 year old daughter. I can't believe I will miss this chick's kindergarten year. I love her so much.
-These are my best friends. Girls I have known forever. My high school (and middle school with Ellie) friends, missionary friends, second-family, couldn't-live-without friends.
-These are my amazing roommates and friends. They have been such a crazy blessing and encouragement to me. They helped me find my awesome church family and have loved me through so much.
-This is Ami. She gets her own picture, because I literally spend 24 hours a day with her, every single day. Every summer we would be glued at the hip, and I think God knew we needed more time together, so he had her go to Maryville instead of Mizzou. She has been the one right by my side through this whole process, and I will miss her every single day. (Thank you for all of your love and constant support. You are the very best ami(friend) I could ever hope for. Please keep my family sane, b/c really-they are your family too now.)
-I have a puppy back home (Petey) and a pet rat at my apartment (Ferdinand Buttons Kon).
-Missions are a HUGE part of my life (obviously).
-The past two years, I have gone to Lima, Peru and I left a huge part of my heart there. I miss them already.
-I went to Cherokee, NC 4 summers in a row. I adopted these two as mine for the week last time I went.
–Other Random Facts:
-Someday (when I grow up) I want to be either missionary or a Christian counselor working with adolescent girls
-I love to read
-Sparkly nails, chocolate, Bubbles (my stuffed bunny), concerts, funny faces, and ridiculous shenanigans with my friends make me smile.
-I am a total coffee addict.
-I love to write and am always journaling or blogging.
-I love, love, love music. I was in choir for 6 years, but now I mostly just sing in the car. I wish I could play guitar, piano, and violin. Someday I will learn.
-I am, sadly, a Netflix junky. I watch Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Pretty Little Liars, and Parenthood…Oh that's more pathetic than I thought.
-The OC will always be the best TV show.
-My favorite chapter in the Bible is Romans 8.
-I am the world's worst person with directions. (I'll work on it, Pops)
-Missionary blogs take up most of my time these days.
-My favorite word is Hephzibah (my delight is in her)
-I don't take risks like this. I've never done anything even close to something as scary as the World Race, but I am so incredibly excited to see how God will use this. He has changed my heart so much in the last year and I know he won't stop now.
