It has been awhile since I updated my blog so I wanted to share a story– a story of what happens when we invite God into every moment of our lives.
My life has transitioned a bit since my last blog, so here’s an update. I now not only work at the school in the afternoon, but also at Subway in the morning. It’s been kinda crazy, but honestly it brings me a lot of joy as well. Each morning I make time to invite God into every part of my day. He’s such a gentlemen that He shows up..everytime!
With our first deadline quickly approaching (May 13th) Friday morning I began to worry about how in the world I was going to reach my goal (Only needing $1,000). So after a long morning of worrying and talking with God I decided I wasn’t going to think about it and try to push it out of my mind. I finished my shift at Subway and made my 15 minute drive to the school, guess what, still carrying the weight of worry. Before getting out of the car I stopped and just cried out that God would meet me where I am because it seems like I left Him at home that day.. I felt His peace and walked into work. Hours passed and we were outside with the kids when as I’m sitting at the picnic table watching the kids run around I look over a few feet away from me and there were not one, but two sparrows eating off the ground. I immediately thought of Matthew 6:26 that says,
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
All I could do was smile. So be encouraged as I was encouraged:
He cares about the little things — even down to a teeny, tiny sparrow. And if He cares about a little bird, how much more does He care about you!? — Who is worth far more than many sparrows? You have to dwell in that truth that He loves and wants to take care of your every need. Are you letting Him take complete control of your life? You can freely find rest, knowing you’re valued, loved, and worth more than you know. Be blessed 🙂
