Dear (fill in name),

I’d like to say thank you for all that you’ve done for me over the last 4 months! Your support either prayerfully or financially has been such a blessing to me. Because of your support I’ve been able to fully embrace this season with God. I’ve learned so much and its only month four! Here are just a few things I’ve learned:

Month 1: Roma,Lesotho: I learned that vulnerability while living in community is a healthy and necessary thing. Beginning this journey, I thought living with six people I hardly knew was going to be easy, but little did I know I was going to be on an adventure of learning what it looks like to serve others before yourself. Its something I’m still learning and will continue to learn the rest of my life, but one thing I’ve realized is that through this my team is worth it and so am I. Life is too short and God has so much more in store for us.

Month 2: Nsoko, Swaziland: I learned that God wants to walk with me through everything that life throws at me. One day while at the AIM Carepoint I was feeling frustrated about a lot of things and so I decided to go on a walk around the property. As I was walking through rough and smooth patches God would remind me He’s with me. Even when it seems chaotic or peaceful He has not and will not leave my side. It’s His promise he makes to us in Deuteronomy 31:6 that says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave nor forsake you.” Even at the end of the month when I began to have blood pressure problems He was there reminding me, “I’m with you and I’ll never leave you”. Also in this month the Lord showed me that it’s possible to love someone seconds after meeting them. See my blog titled, “That time I almost Missed it…” that explains a little deeper.

Month 3: Port Elizabeth, South Africa: I learned this month what a healthy ministry looks like. In working with the Love Story ministry my eyes were open to what the Lord can do through a willing heart to serve along side a steady and successful ministry. Some days were all about rest within our team, but most were about others. Pouring out the love of Jesus onto others fills you like no other. I saw in myself what it looks like to serve with a heart of flesh and it doesn’t last. You’re left feeling worn, exhausted, and ultimately useless. When I loved and served others like Jesus I found that I love deeper and with a love that lasts.

The World Race has been one crazy adventure so far, but it’s also been one of the hardest. I’m not here to say I traveled for my name sake, but God’s alone. I’m not here to say I’ve been to 11 different countries or to get my passport full of stamps. I’m here because the love of Jesus commanded me to go into the world and proclaim the gospel from the rooftops and that’s what I’m doing! He’s spoken through me to people who’ve never heard the gospel. He’s used me to set hearts free to those who were trapped in bondage and that they would know the love of Christ and be forever changed and to me THAT’S worth it! I believe the best is yet to come!

Currently I’m in month 4 of the race in Nha Trang, Vietnam. However, my last financial deadline is November 30th. Out of the $16,961, I have just $2,550 left to raise. Without these funds, I unfortunately cannot continue this journey. This is where you come in! I would love for you to be in prayer about helping me finish this journey we have started by matching your previous donation or making a new one! Any amount helps and it’s also tax deductible. This is my challenge to you!

**This is urgent and asking is difficult, but I’m humbly asking because I believe from the bottom or my heart that this is where the Lord has me and I trust that he’ll provide. I’m so thankful for all the wonderful people I’ve met, the places I’ve seen, and all that God has done thus far.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting me in this journey. If you like to financial support me, please go to emilyhelton.theworldrace.org (password: 54321) and press the “donate” button. Thanks again!

 I love you dearly,

Emily Rae
