The World Race

– What is it?

“The world race is a Christian misssion trip that travels to 11 countries in 11 months.  Participants live out of backpacks, survive on a limited  budget, and find themselves in situations where faith is the only reality to choose from.  In partnering with existing missionaries and minisitries, World Racers develop relationships with the “least of these”, and through acts of service see communities and nations transformed all over the world.”

– What will I be doing?

I feel the best way to put this is pretty much anything and everything.  This is how one of my professors put it, “It is a taste of missions.”  Some things that I might be doing include construction, running a VBS, building relationships with orphans, praying for the sick at hospitals, cooking meals for my teammates and so much more.  Everyday will be focused on being a part of God’s kingdom work.

Where will I be going?

For those who have checked my last blog, the route has actually changed a little bit and it still could change again.  To know more about where I am going and the route please go to this link: http://www.theworldrace.org/?tab=routes&subtab=september-2010

– When will I be leaving?

I will have training camp from July 24th – August 1st down in Georgia where I will be meeting my teammates and getting ready to launch on the journey.   Then I will leave sometime in September on my race around the world.

– Who am I going with?

I will be going with men and women from all over the US and Canada.

– Why am I going?

I am ready for change both in myself and in the world.  I want God to use this experience to mold and shape me into the person that God wants me to be.  I want to be the hands and feet of Christ.  I told God to send me and He responded.

Now that I am only a few short months from my journey, I need to be supported both prayfully and financially.  Please consider supporting me on my life changing journey around the world.
