I am at the point in the race where I have more months behind me than I have a head of me. It is such a weird thing to think about. For most of my squad, it is that time where they are starting to think about plans for after the race. I have honestly put very little thought to what I want to do after the race and this morning when I was reading my Bible, Jeremiah 29:11 came up. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I know what to come is going to amazing especially since it is God’s plan. So for right now I am going to focus on the present and continue to share the good news of Jesus everywhere we go. God is going to reveal the direction he wants me to go when the time comes but for now, I am trying to live everyday to the fullest and find what God has in store for me right now.

So I would like to share a couple of short stories with you from this past month in Kenya.

One day while we were doing home visits, we were enjoying a cup of tea when one of the neighbors came in completely drunk. We could all smell the alcohol across the room. As we were talking, he felt convicted and wanted to accept the Lord as his savior. We started praying for this Muslim man and that Lord will just consume him and take his drunkenness away. After praying we went on to the next house where we were going to preach and this man came shortly afterwards and he was completely sober.

On another occasion, we were going to go to a home where a boy was very sick. That morning, we prayed for the boy having no clue what he was even sick with. When we went to the home of this boy later in the afternoon, the boy was almost completely healed, he only had a very slight headache. God had healed this boy before we even walked into the home to pray.

Carmen preached a message one Sunday about how we should be living with the attitude of if God does not show up, then we will fail. This came at a wonderful time for our team because this is when things just seemed to be going down hill with things that were going on back home. One thing after another would happen and in this process, we kept praising God for all the good He has done and all the good to come. We really believe if God does not show we will fail, but we know God will show up and He will continue to show up each and everyday.

For this next month, we believe that it is going to be a month of promise. One night when Leyna stepped outside she looked up and immediately called the rest of us outside. We looked up into the sky and saw the full moon with a full rainbow in the cloud, right above the moon. It was such an amazing sight and we have interpreted this as God telling us that he still keeps his promises. A couple days later, Bridget was given the word promise and that this month to come is going to be a month of promise.

God is going to do amazing things through my team and I can’t wait to see what He does.

I got my camera stolen and my teammate got her wallet stolen. Looking back at the whole situation, all seven of us were distracted and they probably could of gotten away with more if my teammate did not start yelling. I ask that you will pray for safety as we go into this next month. I also ask that you will pray that God will give us discernment on every situation that may come our way.

Here is me and my Kenya family.  God has continued to bless us with amazing families every month!
