I wanted to give you a sample of some our travel days that we have. These are all the major travel days that I have done with my team in the month of March. We have had many long bus rides, plane rides, and train rides but I am entirely grateful that God is always watching over me no matter what the mode of transportation.
From Kenya to Tanzania
March 1st
4:30 am – Wake up
5:00 – Load the Taxis and travel to the bus station
6:30 – Bus leaves for Tanzania
7:00 pm – Arrive in Dar Es Salaam
8:00 – Arrive at the hostel and disperse to our rooms
From Dar Es Salaam to Mbeya
March 2nd
4:30 am – Wake up
5:00 – Load the taxis and travel to the bus station
5:30 – Arrive at the bus station, trying to catch the 6 o’clock bus
5:50 – Find out that the 6 o’clock bus is full then we heard that there is a 7 o’clock bus
6:15 – Find out that the 7 o’clock bus is full
6:50 – Arrive back at the hostel, eat breakfast, and then go back to bed
12:00 pm – Worship with the squad
2:00 – Go on a hunt for Subway
4:00 – Back at the hostel, spend the rest of the day relaxing
10:00 – Go to bed
March 3rd
4:00 am – Wake up
4:30 – Load the taxis and travel to the bus station
5:00 – Arrive at the bus station
5:30 – Loaded on the bus and ready to leave, the bus is supposed to leave at 6
6:00 – Bus is about half full and is supposed to be leaving
6:30 – Still waiting to leave, a couple show up with an oven, microwave, dishes, and many other things
6:45 – Finally leaving the bus station
5:00 pm – Drop off half of the group
10:00 – Finally arrive in Mbeya!
From Mbeya to Dar Es Salaam
March 23rd
12:00 pm – Catch public to the train station
1:00 – Boarding was supposed to begin
2:30 – Train was supposed to be leaving but no sight of train yet
5:30 – Train has arrived and we are now boarding
6:30 – Train is finally leaving, expecting 24 hours of travel
11:00ish – Train is stopped
March 24th
5:00ish am – Train starts moving again
9:00ish pm – Finally arrive back in Dar Es Salaam
10:00 – Arrive at the hostel
From Dar Es Salaam to Kathmandu
March 28th
10:00 am – Check out of hostel
10:30 – Load the buses and travel to the airport
11:00 – Check in for our flights
1:00 pm – Board the plane
2:00 – Plane takes off
8:00 – Arrive in Doha, and head for our next flight
9:00 – Board the Plane
10:00 – Plane takes off
March 29th
3:00 am – Arrive in New Delhi, spend the rest of the night in the airport
10:00 – Check in for our last leg
12:30 pm – Board the plane
1:30 – Plane takes off
2:30 – Arrive in Kathmandu
