It is almost the three year mark of when I left for my World
Race. I can hardly believe that I have now been home for just over two years
and God has been preparing me for a bigger move. But before I get to the
exciting news, let me update you on the things I have been doing this current
year.

In February, I had the chance to travel to Indonesia and
Singapore to visit a friend from college. I spent the month on her island where
she started up a secondary school for the surrounding islands. I was able to
help with some English classes and just love on the six students that attended
the school. Some of my daily activities included fishing for dinner, playing
badminton, swimming, and exploring the tiny island.

In April, I lead two trips for Adventures. The first was in
Chicago with 15 participants from South Dakota. We volunteered in the school by
helping in the classroom, helped with an after school program, handed out sack
lunches to the homeless, and made bracelets and necklaces with the elderly. The
second trip was in Johnstown, PA with 150 participants where we split the group
up into about 10 different work groups. My group worked out on a farm all week
helping with residing the house, planting an orchard, building a vineyard, and
building 15 chicken tractors (for those of you scratching your head, it is
basically a portable chicken coop), among a bunch of other things.

In June, I spent three weeks in the Appalachia area. One
week in Duffield, VA and the next two weeks in Morristown, TN. On every week
trip that I lead, God always amazes me the ways He shows up in the work that is
done. My participants learned things that they can take back to their own
communities and continue to serve God back home.

In July, I was privileged to be sent to the Philippines to
lead an Ambassador group of five girls between the ages of 14 and 17 for four
weeks. My girls enjoyed helping out at the Hope Alive Clinic which is a clinic
for women who are pregnant who come in and receive a free check-up. Myself
along with two of my girls, were privileged to help with a delivery and being
able to witness a birth of one of Gods children. We also volunteered at the
elementary school, helped out in the nursery at the childrens home, helped
with Bible study for some girls of the community, and ran a VBS for however
many children we could gather from the street. It was fun watching my girls
step out of their comfort zones and share the love of Christ to whomever they
came in contact with.

This entire year, I have been feeling that I need to move to
Asia but have had no clue where until now. Before I left for the Philippines,
someone asked what I was doing so I told him and his response to me is that I
should just stay there. During my month in the Philippines, I prayed and asked
if this was where He wanted me and peace just surrounded me.

I am hoping to leave September 1st with the team
that is being sent out for six months. We will be starting in Guatemala for six
weeks of training before heading to the Philippines. Once in the Philippines,
we will be working with an organization that is called Wipe Every Tear which
works with anti-human trafficking. This is the area that God broke my heart
while on the race and I have wanted to find an organization where I can help
with this movement. God has given me peace to go and be a part of this movement
in Manila. To love these women and children as He loves and not how the world
views/loves them. If you would like to read more about the organization, please
visit wipeeverytear.org.

In order to make this move, I need to raise $9,000. I fully
believe that through you, God is going to support me and provide every penny
that I need. If you cant support financially, I am also going to need prayer
warriors while I am on the field for I will be in some spiritually dark places.

If everyone could commit $40, I would actually be pretty
close to fully funded. For most, this amount would be spent eating out once or
twice, buying Starbucks coffee every day for a week, or taking your family to a
movie. Know that any dollar amount really adds up and anything is a blessing. I
am also looking for monthly donors as well.

While Im gone, please visit my blog at
emilyfagerstrom.theworldrace.org to stay current on what we are doing. My team
and I earnestly desire you to partner with us: follow our journey, pray for our
ministry, and rejoice with us as we watch the Lord bring fruit. Together, we
will bring the fullness of Gods Kingdom to a community that is crying out for
help!
