When you think about a mile there is many things that can come to mind. Many would not think of swimming for a mile. Well, that is exactly what I did today. I swam a mile. Going into this morning I had two goals: to finish and to have a time under 40 minutes.
This was the first time I had ever done anything like this. I was really excited to try something new and to have a new challenge.
Well, I can definately say that I finished the mile race and I can also say that I swam it in 35 minutes. It felt so good to cross the finish line as everyone was cheering for me as I crossed and it was also great to congradulate my co-worker for finishing her race.
During the entire race, all I could think about how the Lord is my strength and that I was able to finish the race that was set before me. I hope as I go on the world race in the next 11 months that I will have the same perseverance that I had today for my race. God has a race set before me and I am ready to run it.
Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked for us.
