Hello faithful supporters!
I would like to give you all a quick financial update.
As of today, I have raised $14,610 toward my trip! Praise God for His faithfulness!
Now you may be wondering, “then why does it only say $7,224 at the top of your blog, Emily?” That number reflects what I currently have in my Adventures in Missions (AIM) account. The “missing” half of donations have been cash or check donations which I have been keeping in a personal account until they are needed to reach my financial deadlines required by AIM (don’t worry, this is completely above board – I checked!).
Furthermore, I do have other expenses on top of the $16,267 required by AIM so I have increased my personal goal to $18,000 to help cover those extra expenses (plane tickets to/from training and launch, vaccinations, gear, etc).
So, in order to reach that goal, I have about $4,000 left to raise. I would LOVE to be fully funded by the time I launch on September 5, so I have started to set a few personal goals of my own to help push that forward. My goal now is to raise $3,000 by August 16 in order to reach my next AIM deadline.
I will be able to continue receiving donations through AIM (the support link on my blog) through December of 2015. After that time, any donations to me through AIM will no longer go directly to me but instead will go to AIM’s general fund.
You will still have 2 ways to donate directly to me after December:
1) you can donate online through my church’s website at weared3.com/give. You will just need to select the “Global Mission Fund – Emily Day” from the drop down menu. There will be options to donate via credit card or bank transfer. If you donate this way, your donation will still be tax deductible!
2) personal checks/cash. Checks can be made out to me or my dad (Richard Day) and sent to my parents address (7303 Collins Street, Whitney Point, NY 13862) with “Emily’s World Race” in the memo line.
Of course, you don’t need to wait until after December to donate via these two other options.
Again, in case you missed it, my goal is to raise $3,000 by August 16 in order to reach my next AIM deadline. If you feel led to financially support me on this endeavor, now would be a great time to do so!
Thanks again to everyone who has shown me support already not only through finances but through prayer and encouragement. I would not be able to do this without you. So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Glory to God,
-Emily
