During a prayer walk around Varna, Bulgaria, the Lord pointed out the uneven ground (it is hard to miss),
but the Lord also said that this ground is both literally and figuratively uneven – unstable.
And although parts of Varna have been restored physically…
I pray for it all to crumble – this is not solid ground.
I pray for the people of Varna and all of Bulgaria to be grounded in God instead – to have their foundation on God and for their hearts to soften.
All of which leads to Matthew 7:24-27:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Psalm 118:22:
“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
My prayer is for the people of Varna to not reject Jesus, but to recognize Jesus as their cornerstone, their foundation, their keystone, their centerpiece, their rock.
Thank the Lord for He is our cornerstone!
