Well…we’ve
wrapped up Australia! It was a good hot month, but it’s time to move on! Please

On
Monday, I arrived in the Philippines! It took us 4 plane rides in 24 hours, but
we made it! We flew out of Cairns to Darwin, then to Singapore, then to
Malaysia, and then to the Philippines! It was quite the travel day! What day is it again?!

This
past week we have been at debrief with our entire squad of 55 and our squad
leaders. This has been a time to relax and process everything that has happened
over the past two months and prepare for what’s ahead. We have had amazing time
to worship and intense teachings by our coaches, David and Bernadette
Fredriksz. It was so good to see our friends from other teams and reenergize
mentally, spiritually, and physically!

This is a jeepney…aka-TAXI! IT cost about $.15 to ride!

So
far, from what I’ve seen, I LOVE the Philippines! The people here are
amazingly friendly and hospitable. You wouldn’t believe how cheap everything is
too! We went from the most expensive country to the least expensive! We are
staying at a ministry base called, Kids International Ministries. They have an orphanage on site and we
have enjoyed getting to play with the kids. They are so happy to see us and get
to know us. It melts my heart…I think God is going to make me fall in love with
this place! One of the girls here is starting a spa ministry where she is
training women to keep them off the streets! You can get a massage, facial,
pedicure, manicure for about $2!! It’s unreal! I think I’m seeing a glimpse of
heaven already!
🙂

One
night, my teammate, Auston Copeland, and I had the amazing opportunity of
meeting with one of my dad’s friends, Dr. Juan Jose Daboub, the Managing Director of
the World Bank. He was in Manila on a visit to see how people were coping with
the global slowdown and what the bank could do to help. He is a brilliant man
and it was an honor to meet with him.

Last
Thursday, Auston took a few of our team members to meet a Church he worked with
two years ago in Manila. It was a pleasure to meet them and hear about their
ministry. They took us to a squatter village, where we got to meet some of the
local people and see their manna feeding station.

At
the end of the week, we found out more about our ministry for the month. Most
of the teams are staying in Manila, but our team along with Brian Wood’s team
is going Bohol! It is a small island about 1 hour away by plane. I’m not
certain what we will be doing there, but I know the Lord has great things
planned! Please keep us all in your prayers as we continue to travel!
