While stranded on a freakin' island… God is contantly teaching me.
There is no place I'd rather be,
even through the challenge.

There is something about peering into the innocent eyes of a child.
A child that at such a young age is scarred by the pain of this world.
A child, whose mom was shot and killed and now her 9 year old sister is practically taking care of her with little food and substance to make it through the day.

Sweet Cathy, 3 years old.
Her mom was shot and killed last year.

It is embracing the child, whose father has passed away,
And whose mom wanders the streets for work everyday.

God continues to do something deep inside of me for these children.

For His children.

It is when I peer into their eyes that I sense God calling me to something greater than myself.
Greater than the things of this world.

These children mean something to God’s Kingdom.
In fact, they should be defined by the Kingdom of God and only the Kingdom of God,
but the lies of this world and the heartache that satan has bestowed upon them has robbed them of their identity as righteous sons and daughters of the
Kingdom.

Meet Lilly and and Candi.
Lilly is 13.
Candi is 11.
The two sisters speak English very well.

After only ten minutes of talking with them at a local feeding program on the island,
Lilly shared with me, with tears in her eyes,
that her father was no longer alive and that her mom wandered the streets for work.

After about six hours of bonding, we knew we had to say goodbye.
I didn’t think I would see these girls again, but God molded our hearts to one another.

The next day, I ran into Candi and Lilly at 9pm on the streets as they were crab hunting,
and my team and I were looking for a taxi.

I sat with Candi at church, the following morning.

And today, I spent another few hours with them at a random chance to go to the feeding program again.

Every time we say goodbye, we say so as it is our last.
And it gets harder every time.

God is obviously putting Lilly and Candi in my life for a reason.
And I, in theirs.

God is teaching me through them.
I feel God’s Spirit overwhelming me with passion as I serve His children.
It is when I am feeding the hungry and loving those that are broken that, I,
once again feel,
alive.

I feel alive because God’s heart is beating with mine.
The incredible joy that God has given me in serving His children is truly unexplainable.

The world might reject these kids,
but God is wrapping His arms around them.
And the crazy thing is,
He uses us to be His hands and feet and show them,
that very love.

God has wired each of us uniquely to serve His Kingdom.
We are to not quench those passions that He has given us.
God continues to push me into further intimacy with Himself by putting beautiful friends like Lilly and Candi in my life.

They remind me that God is everywhere.
And He is LOVE.

Amen.
