Luke 5:27-28
Jesus has been nearly audible to me this week.
The Word's He has been speaking to me through Luke 5, have thrown me to the ground.
What is this man named Jesus calling?
It's to go deeper, casting our nets into the unknown (Luke 5:4-7).
It's that I am not worthy to be His disciple, but He is calling me anways (Luke 5:8).
What does it mean to truly thirst for Jesus?
It's to tear through the crowds and buildings (literally) just to get to Him (Luke 5:17-20).
What does it mean to follow Jesus?
It mean's leaving everything behind to follow Him (Luke 5:27-28).
Jesus is calling us to give up everything and follow Him.
I think often in the American culture, we underestimate the "everything" that Jesus is talking about.
We don't really think Jesus means everything, do we?
Well, I am learning that Jesus does mean everything.
We are not entitled to anything — for everything comes through His hands first.
As I read Luke 5:27-28, I was nearly brought to tears because this whole week of studying Luke 5 was leading up to this passage. Jesus is saying, "Follow Me". And what am I to do? Am I to stay in my little comfort zone, or give up everything to follow after Him?
My desire is to follow Him. And this is a year where I get to practice this life of radical abandonment in pursuit of the Savior of the world.
Here's the reality :: I'm still financially in need to continue you this adventure.
After adding up monthly commitments, I am still in need of about $5,900.
I fully believe Jesus has called me to this adventure of learning to look a little bit more like Himself.
My goal is to be fully funded, by December 1 — the day we will leave Central America and head to The Philippines.
God has called me to radical abandonment for His sake.
Will you be apart of this journey with me?
This isn't just my journey — but I fully believe it is yours too. Whether you can financially support me or not, let this be YOUR adventure too.
