Support-raising: Most missionaries will probably tell you that this is one of the most challenging and least-favorite parts of any calling to the mission field… and yet it is also a call to trust COMPLETELY in God's almighty provision, and to walk boldly in faith believing that the God of the Universe who has ALL resources at His fingertips will give us everything we need to do the work that He has called us to.

When God first called me to the World Race, I knew I would have to walk the road ahead in faith, believing that He would provide support financially, emotionally, and spiritually. But when I started praying about how I was going to raise support, I was not prepared for His answer:

"Not by might or by power, but by MY Spirit," declares the Lord. (Zechariah 4:6)

As hard as it was, I realized that He didn't want me to do anything except wait in Faith and depend on His Spirit completely to provide.  It wasn't going to be about my powerful persuasive speaking ability (cough, cough), nor my detail-oriented event-planning abilities.  It wasn't going to be about selling photo cards or having a garage sale or any other type of fund-raising event.  It wasn't even going to be about sending out pleas or reminders for funds.

No, God wanted me to trust Him completely.  He wanted me to wait patiently.  And, the hardest part for this girl who is so go-go-go, and who saw her teammates selling and rallying and sending out support updates, He wanted me to BE STILL and let HIS Spirit. move and provide everything.

And in His infinite provision, He has.

This morning, when I checked my support account, I discovered that it had surpassed the $14,800 mark overnight.  All glory and praise to God!!!!  Hallelujah!!

And in the joy of that moment, the sudden reality of my journey ahead hit me with full force.  I am leaving in August on the adventure of my life.  But I am not leaving alone.  I have forty-six squad mates whom I have grown to love in such a short period of time (More on this soon!), but even more,  I have such a Faithful God who provides for my needs in ways I cannot even fathom.

All He wants us to do is TRUST, TRUST, TRUST Him, LOVE Him, and BE LOVED BY Him.  I thank God that I can be a living testimony of that Truth.  Amen!
