Just wanted to write a quick blog praising y’all and praising God.

Dial back a few months ago when I looked my mother dead in the eye and said.. ” I’m going on the World Race and I’m going to fundraise it all….” At that time she ( and I) had little faith. I knew my Father was good and I knew that if I trusted in Him, somehow the money would follow. Fundraising is about being diligent and talking about yourself A LOT and I do not like talking about myself. In the most simple words, it is HARD.

I wrote a blog a few months back called “There’s no fun in FUNdraising”  turns out, I was wrong. I have talked to more people and shared my love for Christ way more often than I ever imagined that I would this year. I was ripped out of my comfort zone of asking people for help. Guess what, asking for help is cool and vulnerable and allows us to grow. It is good to hear people say no and it is good to face rejection. Fundraising truly prepares you for the race. I would say that it is one of the most crucial parts of the puzzle of ‘getting ready for the race’, or whatever the heck that really means. Lord knows, I do not FEEL ready, I am basically just wingin’ it.

TIME TO PRAISE:

1. I hit $10,000 … let that sink in…. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.

2. I get to officially be a world racer and launch with my squad

3. My visa to Mozambique came back to me.

I could not have done this without everyone that has supported me or has not supported me along the way so far. I wanted to take this time to sit in gratitude and just feel good. Thank you all for the donations and advice. If it was $1 or $1,000 they all helped me get to this point. So I just want to scream thank you in everyones face and tell everyone personally how full my heart is.

I am almost there…. almost fully funded I can taste it. If you can continue supporting me I would be so appreciative, if not just please pray for me as I pack to leave home and throughout the next year.

Lastly, I would like to close out this blog with some scripture that has meant a lot to me recently.

” And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28

Wow. I kept saying over and over to myself these past few weeks ” for the good” as a reminder that the God I am serving and doing this for has a purpose for me and for my squad. Everything that happens is “for the good” and I truly believe that.

Stay Blessed,

Em
