Dear Friends and Family,
I would like to begin this month’s newsletter with a HUGE thank you to all of you who have supported me in prayer. God has really been at work in my life this past month and it’s all thanks to your prayers that I have been able to experience such growth. I have just over 1 month left here in the Dominican Republic and I pray that I can end my time here well. I have definitely enjoyed teaching here but it certainly hasn’t been easy.
This past month, I felt like I was at war in more ways than one. I was battling spiritual attacks that seemed to come at me from all sides, both inwardly and outwardly. I always had my guard up, ready to fight. Some days were more successful than others. I kept finding myself on defense trying to overcome the offense but I learned that, sometimes, we have go on the offense ourselves. We have to pray for the fight to come to us so that the enemy is on defense. When we are the first to throw a punch, we automatically have more power because it’s easier to predict a reaction than it is to predict when and where the first attack will come. The best way to overcome the offense is to become the offense. I have started to experience more victory recently but some days are still a struggle. Though I am fighting now, I know that I will be victorious over my doubts, fears and insecurities in the end because God has already won the victory. I know that I can go on the offensive with the utmost confidence and security. That said, as you support me in prayer this month I ask that you would go on the offensive. I ask that you would pray for amazing things to happen as I end my time here. Pray for victory and victory will come, pray against to defeat and you are fighting an uphill battle.
As I fundraise for the World Race, I am beginning to see some major victories but I still have quite a challenge to overcome. You all have helped me raise $4,955 which is amazing! I only need $45 more in order for my total to be matched and turn into $10,000. After that, my next challenge will be raise $7,000 more. It’s quite a feat but I am praying for victory. If any of you are interested in hosting a fundraiser for me, please let me know through e-mail, Facebook messenger or by commenting on my blog.
My next major battle will be finding substitute jobs as well as other odd jobs as I return to the states in April. Then, just a few short months later I will meet those doing the race with me at training camp and I am sure I will be presented with plenty of challenges there as well. Thank you so much for your prayers as I prepare to jump into this next season of my life.
Your prayers are truly making an impact on my journey to what God has called me to do. You guys are amazing and I pray that God blesses you all in abundance during the Easter season! He is risen indeed and that is the greatest victory of all!
In Christ,
Emily B.
