Pacific Coast of Peru between Lima and Puno.
Pop Quiz! Math is the subject.
What’s 8+17+7?
Did you get 32? That’s what I got too. Congratulations, you passed. Next question:
What do these numbers correlate to? Dollars? Rabbits? Pounds?
Hours.
That’s how many hours I sat on a bus in the last two days. Keep in mind this doesn’t include sitting around at the bus stations waiting for the bus to leave; oh no, this is the raw number of hours my tush sat in it’s designated 2 x 2 square.
Trujillo to Lima. 8 hours.
Lima to Arequipa. 17 hours.
Arequipa to Puno. 7 hours.
It was a haul to say the least! The smell of urine wafting from the bathroom, the stench of body odor seeping deeper into the arm pits of tshirts and always bloating legs and feet make up the less attractive side of the World Race.
But we also got to see some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth. Oceans, deserts and mountains, Peru has them all! In an effort to share with you what this travel day was like, I made you a fun 3-minute video. I hope you enjoy it!
