Short blog. I just needed to let you in on the latest joy in my life…new sweaties! For those of you who know me well, I live in my adidas sweatpants and favorite tennis sweatshirt when Im at home. Before leaving on the Race, I pondered and pondered if I should bring my sweatpants or not. At the very last minute, I decided against it because I had a pair of jeans and some hiking pants (you don’t need much on the Race…). When we arrived in Trujillo, I instantly regretted this decision. Why…because the weather is just like fall and there is nothing better than wearing your sweaties in the fall!
So, knowing that I have 3 more cold months ahead of me (Bolivia and 2 months in Eastern Europe), I decided to invest in another warm outfit. On our free day, I took a bus with Claudia (new friend from Inca Link) and we went to the market. All I gotta say is 15 soles for sweatpants ($5.50) and 35 soles for a new sweatshirt ($12.50). Not too shabby…
And the best part, the sweatpants are Abdibas. That’s right…abidibas. The closest thing you can get to Adidas here in Peru… Thanks for sharing in my joy. Youll be seeing lots of pictures with me in my Abdibas sweatpants and Puma sweatshirt.

Oh, and a quick update on the ¨score.¨ Its 3 to 1. Im winning. A man working on the public bus asked for my name and if I was married. I happened to be wearing a ring that day (on my right hand) so my response was, ¨Mi nombre es Caroline, y si, estoy casado.¨ He walked away attempting to say my ¨name¨ and all I heard was ¨Line…muy bonita…Line.¨ Yeah, it was the first name that came to mind. Claudia and I shared a good laugh!
