If you would have told me when I was sixteen that the Lord was going to take me to Cambodia I probably would have laughed and gave a very sarcastic answer. Now I am sitting here reflecting on the awesome journey the Lord took me on in Cambodia. Kampot was everything and more that I could have ever imagined. We weren’t living this crazy life where everyday there were lines of people waiting to talk to us. We lived a life that allowed us to teach energetic children English, a life where we woke up early to pray over a field, a life where we got to see the sweetness of the people in Kampot, but most importantly we lived a life that was surrounded by a community of Jesus loving people.

Teaching was a joy but I can’t explain how kind, loving and generous the people of Kampot were. Everyday, anywhere we went, we were welcomed with a grin that was ear to ear. The hearts of these people were so kind. They gave anything and everything they had to us while we were there. Whether this was a cold drink, wisdom or ears to listen the people of our village gave to us unconditionally. Being in Kampot I truly felt and saw how much God loves to bless His children. Day in and day out I was overwhelmed by how much He was blessing our team and the surrounding community. Everyday the Lord used all of these blessings and all of these sweet faces to teach me so much. It almost feels weird because our teams was there to teach them but honestly they taught me so much. They taught me how to be humble (thanks to awesome feedback), they taught me how to love even when its uncomfortable (apologies to anyone who shared an awkward hug or compliment), they taught me how to not be afraid of getting a little dirty (shout out to the boys who loved playing soccer during monsoons) and they taught me how good and true to His word, God is (through literally everything they did.)

I can’t explain how wonderful Cambodia was and this blog does it how wonderful everything about was and continue to be. A huge piece of my heart will always be there, and Cambodia will always be a place I have zero shame to call home.
