Fundraising, fundraising. Three words come to mind. Scary,stressful, growth. This is one of the scariest aspects of the World Race. Asking people for money is hard. I have never had to fundraise money before let alone the amount I need in order to go on this journey in September. It’s scary and stressful but I can already feel myself growing through this process. As scary as it is and as stressful as it can be I know that God will provide. I have total faith that it can be done. One thing that I constantly have in my mind is this:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.”
A friend of mine sent me this when I was thinking of doing the World Race. This has stuck with me ever since.
I have total faith in this process and I am taking the leap. It wasn’t easy deciding to do the World Race. I could have stayed in my comfort zone and continued my life living abroad and traveling the world as I have the past few years. But that wouldn’t be right because over the past few years I know that God has been putting on my heart to go out and do more. I even looked at doing the World Race prior to this year but I knew it wasn’t the right time. Now it is. Now is the time to follow God’s plan even if it is terrifying and stressful. I’m looking forward to the growth.
But I cannot do this without all of you. I need your support. Here are the ways in which you can support me.
1. Prayer- prayer for my preparations over the next several months while working here in Morocco.
2. Prayers for fundraising, that the support will come.
3. Help support me financially. I will be running a Marathon in March. My goal is to raise 1,000 dollars by March 15. You can help by praying, pledging per mile or a set amount.
4. Consider pledging a monthly donation.
