When we were told at launch that instead of spending our third month in Russia, we would be going to Moldova, I didn't really know what that meant for us. Moldova is a very small country located between Ukraine and Romania (don't worry, I had to look it up too). I was a little bummed we were no longer going to Russia, but I was still very excited to see what God was going to do with this unexpected change.

And then we got another surprise.  Yes, my team is in Moldova, but we are in Transnistria, a territory that has broken away from the rest of Moldova and is under Russian control.  God's little gift to my team and team Cologne of Christ, who we are serving with this month, is that we get both.

We get to know and live in both Moldovan and Russian culture.  We get to serve alongside those who are working to bring light to a very unique place in the world.  Transnistria has their own government apart from Moldova, their own currency, their own identity.  But they are not internationally recognized.  They live in a state of existing without recognition, and that spills over to the individual as well.  There is a heavy spirit of darkness here, a feeling of oppression.

The church we are working with, Tiraspol Church, works to preach freedom and love to the people around them.  Their love for the Lord and willingness to be guided by the Holy Spirit is evident in the way they live their lives.  I feel so blessed to be a part of their ministry this month.

We are also blessed again in our accomodations for the month.  The two teams here are staying in an old orphanage, with real mattresses (on the floor), showers, and real toilets.  We also are blessed with a full kitchen and wifi.

This month will be a busy one, but such an encouragement to see God's love preached so faithfully and joyfully.  We get to work during the week with the English club and youth outreach ministry, and we take part in all their youth and full congregation services on the weekends.

Also, thank you again so much to everyone who has supported me either prayerfully or financially.  It truly means a lot to me.  As of right now, I still need $4,277 by the end of December to be able to stay on the Race for the entire 11 months.  If you feel moved to give, any help is so appreciated.  Also, if you would like to be put on a prayer chain email list, comment here or send me a message to let me know

And to officially close Ukraine, here is the recap video made by my teammate Kelly.  Again, it's long, but definitely a good sum up of our time there.  Enjoy!
