FUNDRAISING
In July when I first started this journey I had my doubts about raising $16,617 ..

The first two months were slooow and I was a bit discouraged.

I mean, who donates THAT much of their hard earned money..?
Well, God had a plan because here I am, 2 days before we head to launch and I am FULLY FUNDED! (I got to the middle of this blog when I realized I was fully funded, this initially said $250 away!! God is good, right??)
I am in shock by how God has blessed me so abundantly, and if this is any indication of what the next 11 months will look like… There’s no doubt in my mind that this was the right decision!

I just sent out so many Thank-you’s, but I wanted to reiterate to everyone that has donated just how thankful I am for all of you! I know that you all gave from the goodness of your hearts and I could never repay what you all have done for me.
This will be something I will never forget and so many of you played a part in that!

EMOTIONS
Many of you have also asked how I am feeling..
To answer very truthfully, I don’t know.

Sometimes I have to try really hard not to cry, other times I feel like I’m on top of the world, and all the time I am just SO thankful for the opportunity to be able to go on this journey.
I am SO ecstatic to be doing life with some of the most amazing people, to be submerged in cultures that I’ve never experienced and to see Jesus do some amazing works. Not just in my life, but the people I am going with and the people that we will come in contact with.
I am sad to be leaving my people behind, but it’s only 11 months! I’ll be back. 😀

FIRST DESTINATION
San Andres, Columbia –
Our team could not be more blessed to go serve these people.
I don’t know exactly what ministry will look like but we will be doing weekly outreaches, church ministries and teaching English (while also trying to learn some spanish).
Our goal is to help these people understand that Jesus is a light, even in all of the darkness that surrounds us.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Be praying for my family and I as we travel to Georgia on Friday.
For my squad as we leave the country next week.
For my team as we embark on our first adventure together.
For my parents and other family and friends who are going to be missing me 😉
and for the people of San Andres to be open to what the Lord is bringing their way.

Much love, Emily

My next blog won’t be from the United States!! YAY!
Until Columbia, y’all.
