The exciting yet nerve-wracking moment we’ve all been waiting for…drumroll please…TEAM CHANGES.
The last four months with Young Royalz has taught me so much, and created some friendships that will last a lifetime… BUT change is nice, and (almost) always welcome. That being said, for the next four months of the race I’m on a ROCKIN’ coed team with some of the cooliest people on our squad. We’re only a week and a half into life together, and I can already tell I’m going to be grown and stretched in ways that I don’t even know I want yet!
I love these people somethin’ fierce, so without further ado, meet my new crew…
TEAM DEEPA!!!
MICHAEL
My fearless team leader for the next leg of the race! Michael has such a heart for the Lord, and fierce love for his tribe. He doesn’t settle for mediocrity and he challenges you to be bold and live with confidence in the Spirit. Michael loves to laugh and is always looking for ways to serve those around him. Michael hates being called Mikey.
BEN
Ben has a peace and a stillness about him that could only come from the Lord. He’s gentle but strong, quiet but heard, and makes me laugh at the most unexpected things. He’s one of the most intentional people on the squad, never leaving anyone behind, always an open ear, and always thinking of the next way he can encourage you. Ben is allergic to raw apples.
EMILIE
Our squad logistics queen AND my fellow name sharer. Emilie carries a boldness and confidence that I long for. She cares for those around her and offers a helping hand whenever and wherever she’s needed. She knows the struggles of spelling my name with an i-e and of being taller than most of my friends. Emilie loves to wear black and I’ve never seen anyone do it so well.
NATE
Definitely the funniest guy around. Nate is confident, inquisitive, and he’s always up for a challenging conversation. He takes care of his tribe and feels like a safe place to land in the chaos of whatever is going on. Nate loves a good adventure, can always find the joy in any situation, and thrives in the chaos of life. Nate like…LOVES coffee.
LAUREN
My fierce team mama, Lauren approaches life with open arms and an open heart ready to take in all it has to offer. She’s a fierce evangelizer, carries confidence from the Lord, and can smack some sense into you without skipping a beat. Lauren loves to laugh and she’s always cracking jokes or making funny faces. Lauren rocks a shaved head.
These are my people for the next season of the race, and I honestly couldn’t be more excited. These people are FIERCE and BOLD and STRONG and I know they’re going to teach me so much…and we’ll probably laugh our whole way through. Thank you GOD for the blessing that is Team Deepa.
