My team did our first ATL ministry time yesterday. For those of you that don´t know, ATL stands for Ask The Lord. We prayed about where to go. At first, Andrew felt that God was calling us to prayer for a psychic down the street. We walked down to the driveway entrance to her place. We covered it with prayers and blessings. We prayed in authority of God that Satan would have no strongholds there and that people that would come to talk to her would be directed away from there.
Morgan prayed that God would direct our steps. I felt God calling us to go to a dark purple house with an archway at the end of a street at the top of a hill. We walked to the city and continued to pray as we were walking. We came to a side road and Andrew and I felt that was the way that God was calling us. We split up in groups of three and went two separate ways. James, Morgan, and myself ended up at a purple house. It wasn´t the one I had pictured, but it felt as if God was taking us there. I´m learning to step out in faith and be obedient if I feel God calling me somewhere. We met a woman named Maria. She has lived in and out of Palenque. She has two children and is married. We talked with her for awhile. We asked if there was anything we could pray for her for. She went in and asked her husband and she said that he didn´t want us to pray for her. She said that her husband drinks a lot and that and we could pray for that as we were walking. I seem to have lost by small Spanish vocabulary and/or I think God is teaching me to listen. I watched Maria and felt like I could see hurt and abuse in her eyes. We prayed for Maria as we walked and prayed that God would free her husband of this addiction.
We joined up with the other 3 people who were playing soccer in the street with some kids and we talked to a mother and grandmother. After leaving there, we stopped at an internet place shortly and something crazy yet amazing happened. God worked in amazing ways!
