Hey everyone! I want to take the opportunity to introduce you to the places I will be going to on the World Race, launching in January 2019. Each day for the next 11 days I will be posting some information about a different country that I will be serving in. Thanks for following along!
Country #1: Colombia
Our journey begins with three months in South America. Colombia’s culture reflects the indigenous Indian, Spanish and African origins of its people. But it has also been ravaged by a decades-long violent conflict involving outlawed armed groups, drug cartels and gross violations of human rights. The fourth largest country in South America and one of the continent’s most populous nations, Colombia has substantial oil reserves and is a major producer of gold, silver, emeralds, platinum and coal. However, the country has a highly stratified society where the traditionally rich families of Spanish descent have benefited from this wealth to a far greater degree than the majority mixed-race population.
Reaching unreached tribes, college students, and children living on the streets—this will be the mission of my team in Colombia. Will you partner with us? Click the link to donate or email me for more information!
