In less than a year, I will be embarking on an 11-month missions trip to 11 different countries. My squad and I will first travel to South America, where we will share the gospel with the people of Columbia, Ecuador, and Peru. Next, we will head to Asia and love on God’s children in India and Nepal. We will then spend four months in Africa, working, teaching, and living life alongside those in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Finally, we will end the year in Europe, ministering to the people of Romania and Ukraine.
Missions has had a tug on my heart since I was very young. As a child, I listened in awe to missionary speakers and read many books about my heroes like Nate Saint and Jim Elliot. My heart longed for the courage and faith of a missionary furthering the kingdom in unknown places. I went on several short-term mission trips, both intra- and international, during high school and college. I believe the next step that God is calling me to take is a long-term missions opportunity.
I chose the World Race because it provides the unique opportunity to participate in missions all around the world. If God calls me to be a full-time missionary overseas, this trip will be instrumental in providing direction for the location and type of ministry.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I am a bit nervous about this trip and all the preparation that precedes it, but I am also extremely grateful and joyful that I have this opportunity to step out in bravery and faith and be part of something bigger than myself. Please keep my squad members and me in your prayers as we choose to leave life as we know it behind for a year of reaching different peoples around the world with the hope of the Lord.
1 Chronicles 16:24 “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
