Everyone loves a good complement and being a racer is no different. The only thing that changes is the type of complements. Most of the complements I give and receive aren’t your typical affirmations.
While on the race you may here things like…
You look so clean!
That’s a cute shirt; did you pick it up off the last free table?
Your backpack is so light!
This bathroom is fabulous… Its not a squatty and there is soap!
Oh, don’t worry, you can wear that shirt again… its WR clean.
(aka does not smell that bad or have noticeable stains.)
Have you been consolidating your stuff? You have hardly any danglies.
You’re a great bus buddy, you don’t snore at all.
You are such a pleasant sick person.
Is that a new dress? …Nope, had it for 8 months… but you just MADE my day!
You look great with weave.
Don’t worry your burn from the Bota Bota looks like Africa. You are just fully embracing the continent.
You did a great job looking like you were paying attention during our 3hr untranslated church service.
That was great feedback
Worship last night was so organic!
You smell normal!
(aka like anything that smells like home)
Your Spanglish is so good
You women are blessed with the gift of shopping. Your cup overflows.
All the dirt on you makes you look like you have a great tan!
You don’t talk much, but you are pretty.
You look nice, did you shower?
You are such a P31
You will make a good maid one day.
It just goes to show… you never really know what will come up when you are on a year long trip. 🙂
