For my Family
Originally the reason I wanted to go on the race was to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I have always had a passion for travel and helping people in other countries before I even knew the Lord. I knew that His plan for my life was missions and was hoping that this would help me figure out in what capacity that would be. As time has gone on and through a lot of prayer I’ve realized that the big reason I am going on the World Race is to spread the Gospel to my friends and family. I originally came from Maine and from a family and community of non – Christians. I view this as such a great opportunity to share with them exactly how God is changing me and how I see him express his power and Grace in 11 countries.
So far I have seen God working in my family and I am so excited! My sister, Bethany, came to visit me in charlotte and there was a totally different feeling in our relationship. We did not fight a single time while she was there and that never happens! We truly enjoyed our time together. She visited church with me and was saved 2 months ago. My other sister, Kendra, joined a youth group and has even asked for a bible for her birthday. They see my life and what I am doing and are actually proud of the change in me and what I am about to do. I was not 100% confident I would be able to positively influence my family, but God has made it clear that my mom will also be saved through this journey.
My prayer is that I can spread the Gospel through telling the story of the way that God is working in our team as a community and the way he will work through us to change lives on the field. I know that my family will see the confidence and strength we have through Christ and will be forever changed.
