Training camp in review.
Summarizing everything that happened in the 10 days of training camp seems nearly impossible (which is probably why it has taken a full week of me being home before I have been able to post a blog about it).
Training camp was 10 days of Georgia sun, 170% humidity, camp set up, camp tear down, cold bucket showers, porta potties, endless stickiness, flooded tents, lots of spiders (seriously, soo many spiders), clothes that never dry (due to said humidity), different country themed foods, hiking/jogging with very large packs, and headlamps failing at the worst possible times.
But training camp was also 10 days of being poured into by remarkable leaders, of Holy Spirit overflowing, of physical and spiritual healing, of unconditional love by 20 complete strangers that are now family, and of total, soul flourishing freedom.
Training camp is meant to prepare us for the field, and I can honestly say that my heart has never been so ready to go!
Alsooooo, I got baptized!
For those who do not know me well (or haven’t read the “about me” section), I did not grow up in church. Therefore, I had also never been baptized.
After accepting Christ several years ago, I never really knew when the “right” time was to get baptized. On the last night of camp, when we were asked if anyone wanted to be baptized, I thought my heart was going to explode out of my chest. I had never been so sure of anything as I was that it was my time to be baptized.
Let me tell you, I thought I knew what freedom was before I went to training camp, but nothing has ever compared to the freedom and wholeness that overwhelmed my soul the moment I came out of that water! Jesus redeems it all!
This is freedom.
