Hey hey! How are ya? I hope you are soaking in all the summer sun (and rain that we have been getting here in CO.)! As training camp is quickly approaching, I am getting super duper excited to meet my squad (because I love each one of them already and they are bomb.com, Jesus-lovin’ folks). In preparation for meeting one another, my squad and I have decided to write a blog post about one of our teammates, and I have been given the opportunity to write about my amazing squad-mate Valerie!
While I haven’t met Valerie in person yet, I have gotten to know her a bit over text and FaceTime. Just from talking with Valerie about who she is and what she is passionate about, I already know that she is doing mighty things for the Kingdom.
When I asked Valerie about what clubs or activities she participates in at school, right away she jumped into explaining Best Buddies. Valerie explained that Best Buddies helps students with developmental disabilities use their gifts and talents to go out into the community to build relationships, fight for equal opportunity and find employment. Sounds amazing, right?!
As Valerie explained, it was clear that love and passion were flowing out of her! It was so beautiful to hear Valerie’s passion for those with developmental disabilities, and it was obvious that she has a deep love for them. Listening to Valerie, it was clear that not only does she show these people respect and kindness, but she graces them with Christ’s love. A love that is merciful and joyful and beyond beautiful.
And let me tell ya, I am more than excited to see Valerie put this passion and love into action! I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses Valerie next year to overwhelm all people with Jesus’ love.
So I need your help . . . as Valerie continues to entrust her heart to the Lord next year, join me in lifting her up in prayer. Pray for her heart and mind to be protected from the lies of the enemy, pray for her heart to rejoice always in the Lord (especially when the going gets rough), pray for her to continually seek God’s face above all else, pray for her heart to be steadfast in the Lord’s promises and to endure trials because of His faithfulness, and pray for her to radically be used by the Lord to bring about beautiful Kingdom advancement!!
Join me in praying Hebrews 10:39 over Valerie, “But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.”
Well friends, thanks for giving my blog a read, I really, really appreciate it! I hope you have a super duper fantabulous rest of your day, resting in His promises, and rejoicing because you are so beautifully loved!!
