A Secret Kingdom
Prayers with a mustard seed of faith being shouted to the Heavens.
Ask the Lord month- of course my team would get assigned this job in a closed country. “Sure God, we will find the Kingdom Builders, who are not allowed to tell us they are building the Kingdom”…
Vietnam- the land of Pho, scooters, and communism.

I stepped foot in this country with more than an ounce of fear, “God are you going to show me yourself here, through your people, will I ever find them”.
I need to stop asking God with words like “if”, “are you”, “in case”…. He is always working, moving, and I noticed that in the dark places it is often easier to spot out the lights!
Dad has surely been providing for us this month… through living situation, connections, and old friends….
I am forever encouraged from the stories of the freedom fighters in this place….
A woman who goes throughout the illegal places and proclaims the gospel. Her face has to be covered to keep her identity from being found. She has been chased down by Police, yet she has not an once of fear in her to reach nations for her King. And I was humbled to sit at a lunch table with her- this friend of a friend from my past in Taiwan.
A western chef for a Christian Cafe. We were served her last meal… the government shut down her prized restaurant a few days ago. It reminds me how real persecution actually is.
A man who spoke to me and a teammate through a translator in his living room. He was on the staff of the first underground church in this nation. Imprisoned for 26 months- he never denied our Dad’s name. Now he is the head pastor of 1,200 churches throughout Vietnam.
I am in awe, I am humbled by these encounters. I am blessed by every person I have met in this place, as they show me more of the love of my King… Whether it is my hostel front desk workers who have to keep their faith a secret, the International church I have attended who have over 15 nationalities represented, the man who calls me on the phone to tell me of his secret ministry to reach the North, or the team I live with who are not afraid to share their own faith even with a risk behind it!

“We are more than conquerors through Christ”! Romans 8
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Where ever you would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
So my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
