Recently God has really blessed me with bringing parts of my wonderful past into the present.  On my day off I was able to visit the sister school of my bible college in Florida.  Word of Life Bible Institute Philippines! I was able to share this journey with Jake who also is alumni, as well as two other racers (future WOLBI goers…. fingers crossed)

Well this wonderful and relaxing event gave me a sense of home and I ended up really missing my fellow summer interns who I know are all serving the Lord at WOLBI Florida this semester.

Today.

Some racers would agree that it is just a normal day of waking up, fellowshipping with a team of believers, and heading out to a days worth of ministry.

But for me I needed something a little more.

You see I am a firm believer that God calls us to serve people and not necessarily places.

I honestly think that the people that God has placed around us in our lives are our number one ministry.  And so it is… this blog is in dedication to my BFFL who is supporting me with love and prayers back in the states, because yes she changed ministry for me today. I really hope Tay that you read this one haha.

My team was heading out to go tutor students in a nearby school. On the walk there I ran into some little kids that I had met my first day in the Philippines and have not seen since.  One of the little girls Dahli jumped right into my arms.  I am truly blessed to have a team leader who understands my spirit of needing to allow God to change assignments in my life. She allowed me to stay back and just spend my day with these precious children.

Instantly the kids went from playing with burning trash and loose sticks to teaching me handshakes, fighting over who gets held next (I can only lift a few kids at a time.)  They ranged in the ages from three to five, and the joy that these kids with dirty clothes and rotten teeth carried really just melted my heart to shambles.

Dahli I noticed began to grow fond of the many bracelets that are practically glued to my wrist. My bracelets tell stories about life and people I don’t want to forget. One in particular was a gift from Tay from back in my middle school days.  When this fabricated piece of heap and beads left my wrist to her ankle, the smile on her face was literally priceless.  She keep saying “Beautiful” with delight written all over her face.  Every little friend of Dahli who passed by… well lets just say she made sure they noticed her new fashion attire.

This moment though was not so much about the bracelet to me.  It was about Taylor.  It amazed me how much God wanted to take a random act of kindness from my friend years ago, and use it to bless yet another life.

Pay it forward.

One will never know how when you bless them, they can bless others.

Taylor has seriously blessed my life in so many stinking amazing ways, and she messages me quite often with loving encouragement and prayers. I am so glad that God is allowing me to share in this journey with her… because we both are working in the Kingdom, just different castles.
