So this past week when we did a women’s retreat, we explored new ways to worship! There’s so much more to worship then just singing a song! We each wrote a Psalm and we then shared them with each other, as I listened to everyone my heart responded in worship the same way as I do when we’re singing songs of praise! It’s another beautiful way to bring glory to God by just being honest with Him of exactly what we are going through in the moment.
I want to share my Psalm with you, and I hope it encourages you to just lay everything out before the Lord there is no sense in hiding our true state from Papa, in fact being honest and vulnerable is a form of worship and truly brings Him glory!
My soul is discouraged,
It does not understand your love
In the morning when I wake,
Even then my soul is troubled.
I cry out to you O Lord
with frustration
Why am I so needy,
Why is my soul vexed within me?
I seek after you,
Yet I come up empty.
But you O Lord, are my escape
I know this to be true.
How do I get my soul to listen?
Put your trust in me says the Lord,
For I long to be with you,
Even when you don’t feel my presence
Know this,
That I will never leave you.
Don’t be discouraged
I truly do delight in you,
I have chosen you,
You are fully known,
And you are fully loved.
There is nothing about you
That I don’t adore,
Because I your Father
Am the very one who created you.
I long to fellowship with you
My heart is for you,
You are my chosen one,
Come and be,
Just be with me
I in you, and you in me.
