Hi friends!
I wanted to let you guys know I have some exciting news! I will be continuing with AIM for another season! I will be going back out on the field with a new squad leaving in January. I will be team leading for their first 4 months and helping to raise up new leaders to then continue on! I will be home for about 5 weeks and then be gone from January through April. I am very excited about this opportunity, I know it will have new challenges and new opportunity for growth which I am looking forward to very much!
Also I do realize that it has been over 3 months since I have written a blog post, so much has happened! I will try to give you at least a little update!
For the month of August we did a lot of traveling, my absolute favorite was crossing the Caspian Sea on a ferry! We met some amazing travelers who we spent quite a bit of time with, we traveled through Azerbaijan and Georgia, and then flew out of Tiblisi to Bucharest Romania where we had our week of PVT. It was a week where some of the parents came to spend time with their racers. My parents weren’t able to make it so l got to be on the serve team and be in the kitchen all week! Which was awesome and I loved!
After our time in Romania, I was on a team of 4 of us who traveled through Bulgaria and Macedonia and went to Lesvos Greece to work at a refugee camp for a few weeks. Which was amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. The stories we heard from people were like those you only ever read about.
We ended our time in Greece and then flew to Spain for a week of debrief, and after that we started walking the Camino! Which was such an amazing experience, the people we met and the encounters with Papa were incredible!
I am not going to promise but I’m going to try and write a blog or two on my personal experiences and what Papa has been doing in my heart over the past few months.
We are currently in Morocco! This is definitely a place rich in culture and so much opportunity I’m looking forward to the things we’ll encounter and will probably wait to share till I get home. I can’t believe we are in the final weeks of this year!
Please be praying for us to finish strong and not check out. It is very easy to start dreaming about coming home and spending time with our family and friends and we could potentially just miss this last month. It takes a concious effort to stay present.
