Haiti,

You stole my heart. You welcomed me with beautiful mountain scenic views along the carribean ocean. You have very amazing people who greet you with a warm welcome.

Serving in Haiti at Supply and Multiply is a lot how I imagined ministry would look like. Having a variety of different ministries keeps it interesting and also the translators put the extra cherry on the top. I really appreciate them. The place where we are staying is called the fish house. We are being served so well. We have cooks that make meals for us each day. The food is really good. Breakfast are my favorites as we get fruit, avocados, eggs, peanut butter and bread. One of the other favorite dishes is what they call the garden rice, it is rice with vegetables and chicken all in one dish. The food is really good flavored too. We have a lady doing our laundry!! (yes mom, I don’t have to do my own laundry this month) How much better can it get. We are truly blessed!!

Our weeks look like this 5 days doing ministry work, one day for Sabbath day and the other day for adventure day.

My first week of ministry. I don’t now what my favorite is as I learn so much from each of them. Our first JAM club (which is children ministry) included a story, activity & dancing to music. Before the children came we prayed & asked God what to do. Some heard hugs and it made perfectly sense as that is exactly what they needed. Lots of hugs and enjoying the children. That day Teresa and I worked along side with each other evangelizing. We prayed asking God who to talk to or evangelize to. God answered and showed us both the same person. That is our God! We told the guy that God told us to talk to him. We prayed with him. He is a believer but God wanted us to tell him that he is very special. He is God’s son in whom God is well pleased.

I am learning so much that if we are intentional about every moment and give it to God, God will work through us and it will change the world. It can be wherever we are planted.

Supply and Multiply have two Matthew 25 houses. One for the ladies and one for the men both caring for the elderly. We go there to minister to them, but in return I come away from those places more energized then when I walked in. Their faith and Joy they carry with them is so contagious. Watching them in their weakness or some almost blind, they still have that Joy and smile when we talk and sing about Jesus.

Also we went to an orphanage. We shared the story of Joshua fighting the battle of Jericho. As the activity making paper trumpets and singing  the song, Joshua fought the battle of Jericho. You can see that the children are well taken care of. I was drawn to one girl, she walks on her knees because of being malnourished when younger but can speak english fluently So I could carry a conversation with her which was a blessing!                   Coming home from there I had to think of all the things I take for granted. So I want to be more intentional with thanksgiving as that also aligns our hearts with God’s as we enter into his gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and into his courts with praise.

Psalm 100

Thank you for praying for me!

Pray that I will be bold and fierce in the calling God has for me in every aspect of my life. Especially in giving constructive feedback! Blessings!
