Five questions and a gift.
Here is another peek of my month in Zambia.
What was one thing that u learned from the children about their culture or the way they did everyday life?
So we worked with a lot of Orphan children. I learned that it takes little to make someone smile. It takes little to make someone’s heart feel warm for a little bit. But, it takes Jesus to make someone feel Joyful all the time.
What did you learn about yourself as you ministered to them?
I learned that to often I tend to think I need to be doing things to make a difference in people’s lives or I am responsible for others where actually I am not. I learned that all I can do is to be obedient in listening to what the Lord wants me to do. Then take action to it and God is the only one that can make a difference. I am only The hands and feet for Jesus.
What was your favorite moment in Zambia??
Handing a 12 year old a cross and praying for his future.
What did you do on your adventure day??
I zip lined, across one of the seven natural wonders of the world! What an amazing blessing!
What has been the most difficult challenge in the first five months?
Saying Goodbye to friends who have been your family for a month and trusting God again to revive the spirit to making more friends.
The Gift...
It was really different to spend Christmas away from family.
On Christmas Eve we as J church came together and celebrated Christmas. It was very fun to be treated with food and a small gift from our prayer partners for the month. Also we played the game and got a treat from that as well. We are very blessed!
I had to keep my mind focused on why I am here and that I will never have an opportunity like this again as I was really missing my family!
It made me thankful of the real reason of why I can be celebrating family, friends and community. We celebrate Jesus birth but it made me think of the real reason I can live a victorious life! Jesus gave his life for me so that I am set free from sin and rest in the Lord. I can put to practice the fruits of the Spirit.
We have a savior who delivers people from sin. We also have the gift of a redeemer who rehabilitate our life style. We are made in the image of God as in Gen 1:1-6
It is the gift of the resurrected power living in us who empowers us to grow up to him in all things!! We have the gift of a great high priest who totally understands our human weakness.
He has been tempted in all things we are tempted and knows how to live pure. Because of that he is able to empower us, and gives us the confidence to come before the throne of grace. He created this beautiful place for us to consistently receive mercy and find grace which empowers our relationship with the father.
Christ in us is where we receive a relational learning so that what he is in us becomes who we are in him in the kingdom.
My Christmas Day was spending time with friends reading the Christmas story as you can see in the picture below and also I was so blessed that I got to see and talk to all my family because of technology that makes it possible to stay connected.
But the greatest gift is… Jesus, in us and we can choose to live out a lifestyle that represents him every day.
Blessings on your journey as you put into action who lives inside of you.
