Lovely greetings to all who read.
SOUTH AFRICA…
So I’m going to tell you all about my South Africa stay at Love Story in Port Elizabeth. This time in question form.
- What was your favorite ministry in South Africa? Ahhh… Where do I start for that one. City feed was definitely my number one. However all the others that we did I loved too. Whether it was chopping vegetables, making PB sandwiches, making food packages, sorting baby clothes or making baby packages. Whether it was helping out in orphanages or baby haven, setting up market, planting garden, going with Jo to pick up left over bread or being Faye’s sidekick. I decided that whatever I do if I decide to give my heart to it, it will be amazing. The choice is up to me.
- What was one funny thing that happened ? Hearing Sara scream and run when a rat ran right between her feet and mine.
- Who did you learn the most from? Jo, how well she serves God with boldness!
- What person were you impacted by the most? Faye is my second mama. I call her mama Faye. She impacted me so much of how she lives out her life. Her life story of how she lived her life coming from a very poor home and where she is at right now is truly amazing. A true picture of the times you are facing trials, struggles those are the times when God is preparing you for the next step in life to build his kingdom. The things she went through is what the people that she is having bible study with or ministering to are going through. Now she can empathize with them! God is so good!!!
- What was one way you saw God work? How God prepared the hearts of people who I was afraid that I would hurt them.
- What was your favorite food that you had? Salmon rustic hash, suki crunch bomb, chicken potato curry and roti,
- What was your favorite daily habit? Waking up early and listening to the Lord. Morning prayer walks. Singing in the shower. Peeking out the window to see the ocean. Chatting with Faye. Hugging the cooks.
- What is something God taught you? To let others love and serve me. To obey Him.
- Was there a song or verse that was a theme throughout the month? Yes, a song was: “Let me be your Sanctuary “ and a verse was: Matthew 7:7-11 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. You parents- if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”
- What lesson do you want to take away from South Africa? To always focus on serving the people you are called to serve with. What good does it do to go serve others if you don’t get along with your own family.
- Which animal on the game drive was your most favorite one? Giraffes. Why? It made me think of my nephews because it is Dustin’s favorite animal and I could just hear and see the excitement if he would of seen them with me.
South Africa was truly life changing for me.
Working at Love Story will forever make me want to make my story full of Love.
