In June of 2009, an 11-year-old girl was set to move 1,700 miles away from the only place she had ever known, away from the church she grew up in, her friends, family, and school. She was terrified of starting middle school by herself surrounded by people who had known each other since kindergarten. She felt lost and afraid but she faced her new reality (with some resistance) but accepted her new life with one request to have one more White Christmas. She spent every day for the next six months praying to God that he would give her one last Christmas, a sense of familiarity and home in a strange and new world. On December 24, 2009, the heavens opened up in a way that hadn’t been seen since 1971, an (almost) record-breaking amount of 17.1 inches of snow in some areas.  The snow stayed through Christmas Day and by the morning of December 26th the snow had begun to melt.  That little girl who prayed reverently for snow was me, my miracle snow had been granted to me. Whenever I feel discouraged, left behind, or alone I am reminded of God’s faithfulness and love for us. Our Lord is so powerful and has so many things He could have done but He took the time to stop and give an 11-year-old girl the desires of her heart. My heart is still astounded by his grace and love for me ten years later.

So here I am again, humbly coming before His throne to ask once again for my miracle snow. He has put on my heart to go and serve His kingdom, to bring hope to the hopeless, a home to the orphan, and love to the lost. He has called me to go so I must go, but I cannot without the support from my community. Please take the time out of your day to prayerfully consider partnering with me as I embark on this journey with Adventures in Mission–Serving the nations and sharing Jesus’ salvation message. Partner with me to see a new type of miracle snowfall and share in God’s hand moving throughout these nations.
