This is me!
I’m a 21-year-old Texan.
I’m currently in my senior year at the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) pursuing a degree in Rehabilitation Studies with a double minor in Sociology and Psychology. I am a sister of Chi Omega Fraternity and Sigma Phi Lambda Sorority. At any time you can catch me cheering on the Mean Green at various sporting events, especially football (catch me at the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque!) I also participate in a variety of intramural sports including soccer, flag football, volleyball, and softball!
I am the eldest of three girls and am the proud older sister. My dad was a pastor and evangelist until I was twelve and we moved to Texas. I grew up on Cape Cod, MA and in Rochester, NY prior to Texas. I have always known that God was real, He was a tangible presence in our lives. God has helped me through all my childhood and teenage angst and molded me into the woman I have become.
My youth group, the GYM (Grace Youth Ministry), was vital in sparking my interest in missions. Grace Community Church has a huge outreach ministry. The youth were encouraged to reach people in our own area, and as such, I completed many service missions including working with Arlington Mission, holding Vacation Bible schools throughout the metroplex, and working in youth ministry as a leader. During my freshman and junior year of high school, I was privileged to be able to go to Guatemala and work on the mission field there. It was there I first felt God call me to work with people. It has been this calling that has kept me going through school, knowing that He has a greater purpose for my life.
During my years at University of North Texas, I have found a spiritual home at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. They have continued to feed my passion for the mission field.
