My name is Ellie Miller, I was born in Houston Tx. when I was four I moved to College Station Texas where my dad got a job as a Cardiologist. From there I began my journey with the public education system at Christ United Methodist Church’s school for little people. I went to school with my best friend Tori who I still live down the street from today!!
Fast track to today – I am 18 years old and just finished my 3rd and last year of high school (yes you heard me right, third and last). I graduated a whole year early in order to pursue missions and return to college with kids my same age.
Throughout high school I have had the opportunity to take part in a various amount of activities such as volleyball, yearbook, HOSA (health occupation students of America) outside of school I was in NCL (national charity league) and my youth group as well as youth choir.
I also started my own business Miller Photography at the beginning of sophomore year.
but you didn’t come here to read a college resume, you came to find out who I REALLY am.
In all honesty, who I am changes everyday and I hope I can continue to say that for the rest of my life. Each day I experience different things that alter my perspective or beliefs and therefore it feels incorrect to try to define myself in a permanent blog post, in written form, because tomorrow I will probably find something else I am just as passionate about as I am today. That’s the beauty of humanity – we can choose each day to reinvent ourselves into someone who is kinder, wiser, and more patient, we never have to settle for what we were yesterday. So with that I will share with you some of my passions right now.
I am passionate about PEOPLE and what makes them them. While some would prefer a friday night in with their dog and a good movie (sometimes I enjoy this too), but for the most part I would prefer spending my time with different groups of people who have different thoughts and idea than me and getting to hear what their beliefs are and why is so refreshing in high school when we are all constantly fed the same information and often are led to believe the same things.
Photography is another way I am able to connect with people. Strangers or friends, I am able to meet with them for a few hours and talk to them about their goals, future, or life and photograph what they look like right in that moment. People don’t realize how powerful photography is. It allows us to time travel back to a time period and seemingly fit into it. All the books and stories can fill our heads with ideas of the past, but it is not except through photography that we see the true history of the world – with only the facts, nothing distorted.
At the moment I also enjoy writing and have my own website (elliemiller.co) where I post personal blogs, photographs, and videos I have made (mostly from family vacations).
So theres me right now !! feel free to email me if you want to chat or have an idea to ponder, I would love to wonder with you 🙂 [email protected]
