I am officially fully funded and have SIX days until I leave! After months of preparing and fundraising it is such a relief that the time has finally come to get out in the mission field. I no longer need donations, and any extra donations made on my account will go to Adventures in Missions. I am beyond blessed to everyone who has donated to my trip. At first, raising $5,500 seemed very overwhelming, but God showed that He will provide! On May 30th, I will be heading towards Georgia where I will meet the people I will be spending the next two months serving in Christ with. I will be doing a training camp at the Adventures in Missions base for three or four days before leaving for Thailand. There will be about 18 of us going and two leaders. Once we arrive we will be split into two groups for the month.

I have gotten a lot of questions on what exactly I will be doing while I am there, so let me enlighten you! In Thailand we will be based out of Chiang Mai. My team and I will be partnering with the local ministry there. The goal is to bridge the gap, so we will be teaching some English, working with children’s ministry, and any other social events that can help to create relationships.

In Cambodia we will be located in Siem Reap. There, my team will be partnering with a local orphanage. Most days will consist of interacting with the children, such as teaching bible classes and English, manual labor around the orphanage, and letting the children know how loved they are. Every day in the mission field can be full of surprises and changes, so it is good to be flexible and go where God leads each day.

I can’t believe I leave so soon, and it is all about to become a reality. Please keep me in your thoughts as I begin to frantically pack and unpack my bag, and as my team and I are traveling. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions at all!

Blessings, Ellie.
