My sweet, sweet friends-

I have recently developed a belief and know what I'm about to say is something I have let rule my life for the past 22 years. It's a lie & a trap that keeps us from fellowship, intimate and rad time with the Lord and enjoying his beautiful and wonderful creation. It is something that creeps up on you overnight and sneeks in if you're not truly intentional about punching it square in the face and telling it to "get gone."

This thing, this it, is a simple phrase that has taken over our vocabulary. I use it, you use it, we all use it. Were all victims.

Here's the harsh reality…

There is NO such thing as "NOT ENOUGH TIME

I have come to realize if this phrase exists in my vocabulary then I have 100%, no doubt about it, need to (as my loving mother says) stop and re-prioritize.

God's gift of time has turned against us. Our calendars are filled from morning to night. Our schedules don't allow for relaxation (side note: taking time to relax is DIFFERENT than laziness). Our lack of taking care of self (working out & eating right) transforms into low self-esteem & doubt (I'm a girl and I can 100% attest to this. sidenote: there is such a thing as the opposite extreme). Our lack of QUALITY time with other people leads to feelings of lonliness & isolation. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Pushing off time with Jesus has a detrimental effect on ALL of these things aka we start "trippen" and next thing we know were driving the "struggle bus" all day, everyday (How do I know this?? Because I have personally experienced this).

Harsh truth: We DO have time, we just choose other things over him. Over and over and over again. Every "valid" reason to why we "can't" is simply an EXCUSE.

Jobs, school, money, fear >> excuse. Extreme but true. I do it, you do it, we all do it.

There are 24 hours in a day. Each minute is a gift from above. We believe in the cheesy sayings like "Live your life to the full" & "treat every day as your last" but lead lives that speak the opposite.

"Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to WAKE FROM SLEEP" -Romans 12:11

"Be STILL and know that I am God." -Psalm 46:10

My dearest friends, STOP AND BREATHE. ENJOY your food. TALK with your roommates. MEET your neighbors. SPEND time with God EVERY DAY. BELIEVE in your beauty. APPRECIATE creation.

Stop spinnig in circles and simply stroll. I can dig that..

Lovingly and gasping for air,
Ellie

This video is a good reminder for us all. Stellar advice.
