Happy New Year People! guess what!? y'all are still BEAUTIFUL!

"I am the way and the truth and the life." -John 14:6

I started 2012 by having breakfast at my FAVORITE place in KC, Eggtc. with my friend Greg. He asked me "the" question that often comes up when discussing The World Race, "is it hard to not be able to date?" (World race has a rule that if you are accepted into the program single, they ask you to remain single until you return > totally makes sense). I support this but in all honesty, it's not easy and my rebellious nature doesn't enjoy being told what I can and cannot do.

I've been realizing that growing closer to God and in your faith is not about…

*our relationship status*
(Ladies: you will NEVER find a man to complete you, only God can fix our brokenness)

*where we are*

*our job*

*our age*
(faith has no scale therefore time is irrelevant)

*"amount" of sin*
(for real, he knows it ALL and still loves)

*how many good deeds we can perform*
(we can never undo the fall in the garden, we were born a traitor)

We live in a society that teaches the opposite, so what is different about Christianity??

IT IS NOT ABOUT US.

God made us so that we could glorify him through our lives. If this is the case,  society has it all wrong. Want to hear something beautiful? We don't have to be in a church to honor God.

We were made by a creator to glorify him, NOT his creation.

The bible constantly tells us, if you seek him, you will find him (the man doesn't play games). If he is all present and all knowing AND it's not about us then …Once confessed, our sin is irrelevant and can't hold us down. In every community he can provide you with the help you need > people, shelter, food, job.

God is everywhere. God created everything. Consider this. What if God really was present in and all around your life? I spent years chasing after the wrong things and wondering why God wasn't showing up. I finally realized I wasn't giving him a chance to take over.

You can't find what you're not looking for.

It's a new year but everyday he gives you and I a chance to start anew >> that's tight.

God is after our hearts not our hands.

"For grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God." -Ephesians 2:8

Let's start doing things differently than the rest of society. Step 1: more action and less talk.
