Preparation for the World Race has led me to play a game of Tetris with my life.

And, fortunately, I’m learning that I’m not the most efficient gamer after all.

Family, friends, fundraising, good-byes, last-second visits, work, finances.. all different pieces that HAVE to somehow fit together into a perfect puzzle.  You rotate each piece to better suit the grand scheme of the puzzle, but you can’t always control the timing of each piece thrown your way. Sometimes you get stuck with the seemingly hopeless piece that you can’t fit into your preplanned lay-out. Other times, you get a donation or a hug you’d been craving and it feels like the piece you’d been endlessly crossing your fingers for.

Since training camp, I feel like I have selected “New Game” several times.  I keep getting the puzzle deceivingly close to completion, but there continues to be gaps I cannot fill. Talk about frustration.

Notice I didn’t give Jesus his own Tetris piece?

It’s amazing what happens when you apply the missing piece. You discover completion.

Life gets busy.  I, for one, can attest to that right now. I FEEL YA. But the treasure we hope for, the missing burst of joy we yearn for… It can only be found in Jesus.

I want to encourage you to join with me in practicing our game of Tetris.

So we can suck less.

Whatever your pieces may be.. kids, spouse, work, church, friends..

Give Jesus a puzzle piece. Or two. Or three.
